“Oblivion” star will appear in “The Water Diviner”
Olga Kurylenko, who turned heads in “Oblivion” and “Quantum of Solace,” will star in Russell Crowe's directorial debut “The Water Diviner.”
Crowe co-stars in the World War I epic, that follows an Australian father who travels to Turkey to find his three sons who went missing in action during the battle of Gallipoli. Kurylenko plays the owner of the hotel where Crowe's character stays.
Principal photography begins this December in Australia.
The “Saving Mr Banks” team of Andrew Mason and Troy Lum will produce the film for Hopscotch Features, and Keith Rodger (“Robin Hood”) will produce on behalf of Crowe’s own shingle Fear of God Films. Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastassios wrote the screenplay.
Kurylenko recently finished filming “Vampire Academy” and the spy thriller “November Man” opposite Pierce Brosnan. Her next project is “Momentum” opposite Vincent Cassel and Shea Whigham.
Crowe, who recently appeared in “Man of Steel,” will next be featured in Darren Aronofsky's “Noah” and Akiva Goldsman's “Winter's Tale.”
Crowe is represented by WME and Kurylenko is represented by Tavistock Wood and CAA.
