Sad news, “One Life to Live” fans.

Eddie Alderson, who played Matt Buchanan from 2005 to 2012 on the soap opera, revealed Monday that he’s been diagnosed with cancer.

“This weekend has been a crazy one to say the least,” the 22-year-old actor wrote. “Some of you may already know, but Friday I was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and will begin chemo therapy sometime this week.”

Alderson went on to vow that he will “beat” the disease, calling the diagnosis a mere “bump in the road.”

“While this journey will not be easy, I know that together with all of my family and friends, we will beat this! Just a bump in the road on this crazy ride we call life!”

The actor concluded, “I will keep all of you updated as we go along.”

Alderson’s other credits include “Law & Order,” “Changeling” and the Leonardo DiCapri movie “Reservation Road.”

The actor, whose sister Kristen Alderson is also a veteran of “One Life to Live,” was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on the soap in 2012.

On Monday, Kristen Alderson posted a photo of herself with her sibling on Instagram, writing, “My beyond precious and amazing brother (and best friend) @eddiealderson got diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer last Friday.

Ever since, we’ve been surrounded by love, support, and optimism. He is so strong and determined, I know he’ll beat this. Please pray for Eddie’s journey w/ us. I’ll keep you all updated as always.”
