Orly Adelson Steps Down as ITV Studios America Chief

Production executive sets departure after barely a year at company

ios America president Orly Adelson is departing the company, The Wrap has confirmed.

Adelson joined ITV Studios America in Jan. 2014 after serving as head of Dick Clark Productions. Her departure comes as corporate parent ITV has been ramping up its U.S. operations with several high-profile acquisitions of smaller companies last year.

Under Adelson, ITV Studios America pushed more heavily into scripted programming. The company also is responsible for the upcoming Neil Patrick Harris-hosted NBC variety show “Best Time Ever,” which is based on an existing U.K. ITV property.

“ITV Studios America’s continued expansion in both scripted and unscripted, coupled with Orly Adelson’s decision to step down as President, provides us with the opportunity to restructure the business to better reflect our growth and ambitions for the future,” an ITV Studios spokesperson said in a statement. “We would like to wish Orly the very best as she moves on with her plans in live, reality television and scripted production.”

Adelson leaves ITV less than one year after ITV Studios U.S. Group chief Paul Buccieri left to join A+E Networks, where he serves as president of A&E and History.
