After helping to save the galaxy in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Oscar Isaac is set to reteam with his “Ex Machina” director Alex Garland on Paramount’s sci-fi movie “Annihilation,” TheWrap has learned.

Natalie Portman stars alongside Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Scott Rudin is producing the adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer’s novel, which follows a group of women who take on a dangerous mission where the laws of nature don’t apply.

The group consists of an anthropologist, a surveyor, a psychologist who serves as the group’s de facto leader, and a biologist who is the narrator.

Isaac will play Portman’s husband, who may or may not have disappeared.

Isaac, who is currently busy filming Rian Johnson‘s “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” will soon be seen as the titular villain in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” He’s also expected to be in the awards conversation later this year, as he stars opposite Christian Bale in “The Promise,” which is expected to bow on the fall festival circuit.

Isaac is represented by UTA, Inspire Entertainment and attorney Mitch Smelkinson.
