Daren Kagasoff has also joined the cast in a supporting role, contrary to an inaccurate report that pegged him as the male lead.

“Ouija,” which is inspired by one of Hasbro’s most iconic brands, will be produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form for Platinum Dunes, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir for Hasbro.

Universal’s Scott Bernstein will oversee the project for the studio. Filming begins next week on location in and around Los Angeles.

Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes recently collaborated with Universal on “The Purge,” which has grossed more than $90 million worldwide on just a $3 million budget.

Cooke is represented by Gersh and manager Lena Roklin, while Smith is repped by Paradigm and Brian Medavoy of Medavoy Management.
