The two-time Oscar nominee will guest star on “HR” with the possibility of recurring if ordered to series
Peter Fonda is joining Darren Star’s pilot for Lifetime, “HR.”
The two-time Oscar nominee will play Jonathan Quaff, one of the founders of the company where Ellen (Alicia Silverstone) works, a network representative told TheWrap. The role will become recurring if the pilot is ordered to series.
HR follows Ellen, the uptight director of human relations for a global company who suffers from a head injury. After the injury, she throws standard corporate practices out the window. Some dislike her new ways, others like Fonda’s Jonathan find them refreshing. He’s bowled over by Ellen’s unorthodox and shocking ideas on how to upgrade the company’s image while keeping everyone happily employed.
Fonda joins already announced cast members Greg Germann, Will Kemp, Kellee Stewar, Maulik Pancholy, Cara Mantella and Cheyenne Jackson.
Best known for his roles in classic films like “Easy Rider,” his TV credits include “Hawaii 5-0,” “CSI: NY,” and “ER.”
Star (“Sex and the City”) will direct and executive produce the pilot, along with Aaron Kaplan and Kapital Entertainment (“Terra Nova,” “The Neighbors”). Glenn Porter (“I Melt With You”) is writing and co-executive producing. Michael Lohmann is also co-executive producing.
Fonda is represented by Innovative Artists, Somers Mauldin The Rose Group and Kleinberg, Lopez, Lange, Cuddy, Edel & Klein.
