‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Skylar Astin’s Rom-Com ‘Cavemen’ Acquired by Well Go USA

Herschel Faber directed the film, which co-stars Camilla Belle, Alexis Knapp, Kenny Wormald and Chad Michael Murray

Well Go USA has licensed all North American rights to “Cavemen,” a romantic comedy that marks the feature debut of writer-director Herschel Faber, the company announced Tuesday.

“Pitch Perfect” stars Skylar Astin and Alexis Knapp lead the cast, which also includes Camilla Belle, Chad Michael Murray (“Fruitvale Station”), Kenny Wormald (“Footloose”) and Dayo Okeniyi (“The Hunger Games”).

Astin stars as a Los Angeles playboy who is fed up with one-night-stands and empty relationships and realizes that he wants something more out of life than just a party. With a little inspiration from his nine-year-old nephew and his best friend (Belle), he decides to try his hand at finding true love for the first time — which proves to be much more difficult than he thought in modern-day Los Angeles.

The film, which was produced by Traverse Media and Fascination Films, made its world premiere over the weekend at the Austin Film Festival. Well Go USA will release the film in theaters and on VOD on Feb. 7.

“Herschel has put together a wonderful film about the trials and humor of finally growing up and moving on from the life of a bachelor with some of the best young actors working today and we’re excited to bring it to audiences next year,” said Well Go USA president Doris Pfardrescher.

“The team at Well Go has been so enthusiastic about and supportive of ‘Cavemen,’” said Faber. “I can’t imagine a better partner to help me take this film to audiences across the U.S. and I can’t wait to share it with them.”

The deal was negotiated by Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films on behalf of the filmmakers and Well Go USA’s Pfardrescher.
