Pivot’s ‘Fortitude’ First Look Features Stanley Tucci, Richard Dormer and a Sniper Rifle (Exclusive Photos)

Michael Gambon and Christopher Eccleston also star in the network’s first scripted drama series airing in January

Glimpses from Pivot’s first scripted drama series, “Fortitude,” featuring “Hunger Games” actor Stanley Tucci and “Game of Thrones” star Richard Dormer promise frozen Arctic tundras and plenty of suspicion.

The first look pictures, exclusive to TheWrap, reveal the dramatic frozen setting and five of the main characters from a sleepy titular town that is rocked by murder.

Fortitude is such a nice place that it’s never even had a crime. That is, until now. And it’s — you guessed it — murder.

The Pivot series follows the Fortitude Chief of Police, Sheriff Dan Anderssen (Dormer), who has to investigate the death alongside DCI Morton (Tucci). As the two cops try to make sense of the killing, each uncover reasons to mistrust and suspect the other.

The murder is a particular catastrophe for Hildur Odegard (Sofie Gråbøl), the town’s governor, as it threatens her ambitious plans to transform Fortitude from a mining town into a site for high-end tourism.

And for Henry Tyson (Michael Gambon), a wildlife photographer who only has weeks left to live, the murder is the catalyst to unearthing Fortitude’s darkest secret.

“Fortitude” also stars Verónica Echegui (pictured below) as Elena Ledesma, Christopher Eccleston, Jessica Raine, and Luke Treadaway.

“Fortitude” debuts in January on Pivot, a television network from Participant Media.
