Playboy model Katie May has been hospitalized and is in critical condition after suffering a stroke on Monday, TMZ reports.
May, who goes by the Internet handle MsKatieMay and is known as the “Queen of Snapchat,” reportedly sought treatment for neck pain recently. TMZ cites her family as saying the stroke was brought on by a blockage in May’s carotid artery.
May is in her mid-30s, according to TMZ.
The model’s most recent Instagram post, from earlier this week, reads, “Hope everyone is having a great Monday! It’s very windy here in LA.”
May appeared in a pictorial with other social-media stars on Playboy.com in the fall.
Recently Internet rumors had circulated that the model had died, with one account claiming that she fell from a cliff.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support May’s daughter, Mia. The page makes no mention of a stroke or hospitalization, but reads, “Katie’s family plans on using any money raised to help pay for education, Mia’s daily life and to help her dad with the costs of parenting.”
As of this writing, the page has received $705 dollars, out of a targeted $100,000.
