Ratings: CBS Tops NBC in Key Demo, Snaps 8-Week Streak

David Blaine’s “Real or Magic” special ties ABC with NBC for second in ratings

CBS won Tuesday night outright, breaking NBC’s eight-week streak atop the ratings.

It wasn’t so much that CBS had a better-than-average week, or that NBC did particularly poorly. The two have been neck-and-neck, even tying last week in final numbers. But last night, “The Voice” hit a fall Tuesday low and “Chicago Fire” dipped 14 percent in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary numbers. “The Biggest Loser” stayed flat, and that was all it took for a steady CBS to overtake NBC.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.5 rating/7 share in the key demo and first in total viewers with an average of 15.5 million. “NCIS” earned a 3.0/9 and 19.4 million viewers — the most of the night — at 8 p.m. At 9, “NCIS: Los Angeles” received a 2.5/7 and 14.9 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 got a 2.0/6 and 12.1 million viewers.
