Ratings: Fox Wins Night With ’24’ Finale, ‘MasterChef’

CBS’ “Under the Dome” is night’s top-rated and most-watched program

The finale of “24: Live Another Day” jumped in the key 18-49 demo Monday night, combining with “MasterChef” to give Fox a win in both ratings and total viewers. Meanwhile, CBS’ “Under the Dome” was the night’s top-rated and most-watched program, according to preliminary numbers.

Fox was first in the demo and total viewers with a 1.7 rating/6 share and in total viewers with 6 million. “MasterChef”‘ at 8 p.m. was down slightly from last week with a 1.8/6 and 5.5 million total viewers.

The “24: Live Another Day” finale the following hour, meanwhile, jumped 21 percent in the demo from last week for a 1.7/5 and inched up in total viewers with 6.5 million.

CBS shared second place in the demo with ABC and took second in total viewers with a 1.4/4 and 5.8 million, respectively. The network ran repeats aside from “Under the Dome” at 10, which grew 12 percent from last week for a 1.9/6, the night’s best demo performance, and had 7.5 million total viewers, the night’s largest audience.

ABC, taking third place in total viewers with 5.7 million, aired “The Bachelorette” at 8, which had a slight dip from last week for a 1.7/5 and took 6.6 million total viewers. “Mistresses” at 10 remained even with last week to tie a series low of 0.9/3 and drew 3.7 million total viewers.

NBC came in fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 1.3/4 and 4.6 million. Following a repeat of “Last Comic Standing,” the network aired “American Ninja Warrior,” which ran even with last week for a 1.7/5 and took  5.4 million viewers, a season high in viewership for a regular edition.

The CW averaged a 0.3/1 and 875,000 total viewers for the night. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” at 8 posted a 0.5/2, down 17 percent from its most recent airing on June 23, and had 1.5 million total viewers. The CW premiere of “Backpackers,” which pieced together web series segments, drew a 0.2/1 at 8:30 with 660,000 total viewers. Following a “Whose Line” repeat, the CW premiere of “Seed” had a 0.2/0 with 548,000 total viewers.
