“Big Brother”-led CBS settles for third in primetime

NBC won yet-another night on Wednesday, though Fox made it interesting.

“MasterChef” led Fox to finish runner-up, dropping CBS to third. The disparity between each of those Top 3 slots were two-tenths of a Nielsen point.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.5 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 7.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. An 8 p.m. recap telecast of “America’s Got Talent” had a 1.4/6 and 7.2 million viewers. A live hour of “AGT” at 9 earned a 2.1/8 and 10.5 million viewers.

Fox was second in ratings with a 1.3/5 and in viewers with 4.11 million, airing just the cooking competition.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.1/4 and in viewers with 4.09 million. “Big Brother” at 8 scored a 2.0/8 and 6.4 million viewers. Following a rerun, “American Gothic” at 10 got a 0.5/2 and 2.6 million viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 2.8 million, airing all repeats.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 1.55 million.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.46 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.36 million. “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” at 8 received a 0.4/2 and 1.5 million viewers. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” at 9 managed a 0.4/2 and 1.3 million viewers. A rerun followed.
