CBS and ABC tied for first in ratings Thursday — with the viewer edge going to the former — as Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” hit a new regular episode low in both key demo ratings and viewers.
The CW’s “Vampire Diaries” also dropped to a series low rating.
CBS and ABC tied for first in ratings with a 2.4 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS was first in viewers with an average of 9.8 million, according to preliminary numbers. ABC was second with 7.9 million viewers.

For CBS, “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. was the night’s highest-rated and most-watched show with a 4.6/17 and 16 million viewers. “The Millers” at 8:30 earned a 2.6/9 and 10.2 million viewers.
“Two and a Half Men” at 8:30 received a 2.4/8 and 9.6 million viewers. “The Crazy Ones” at 9:30 got a 1.7/5 and 6.9 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 had a 1.7/5 and 7.9 million viewers.
For ABC, “Shark Tank” at 8 received a 1.6/6 — down 20 percent from its last original — and 6.6 million viewers. The reality show did boost the timeslot for the network, however, to a six-month high in ratings and season-high in viewers. At 9, “Grey’s Anatomy” had a 2.5/8 and 8.1 million viewers. “Scandal” at 10 earned a 3.0/9 and 9.1 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 1.4/5 — a new low — and in viewers with 5 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 had a 1.4/5 and 4.1 million viewers. “American Idol” at 9 got a 1.7/5 — tying a series low — and 7.5 million viewers. “Surviving Jack” at 9:30 received a 1.2/4 and 4.3 million viewers.
NBC and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, each with a 1.0/3. NBC was fourth in viewers with 3 million. Univision was fifth in viewers with 2.6 million.
For NBC, “Community” at 8 had a 0.8/3 and 2.6 million viewers. “Parks and Recreation” at 8:30 got a 1.0/3 and 2.6 million viewers. Following a rerun, “Parenthood” at 10 received a 1.1/3 and 3.6 million viewers.

Telemundo and The CW tied for sixth in ratings, each with a 0.4/1. Telemundo was sixth in viewers with 1.1 million. The CW was seventh with 1 million.
For The CW, following a repeat, “Reign” at 9 got a 0.4/1 — down 33 percent to a new low — and 1.2 million viewers.
