Ratings: ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Tumbles 31 Percent From Last Week

“American Ninja Warrior” slips after two weeks off; ABC matches NBC in key demo

So You Think You Can Dance

“So You Think You Can Dance” took a dive on Monday when “American Ninja Warrior” returned to NBC.

“ANW” itself slipped, albeit not as dramatically as “SYTYCD” did. The Fox dance competition dropped 31 percent to “Warrior’s” 14 percent slide in the key 18-49 demographic. The NBC agility competition had previously been off for two weeks, making a comparison to its last original airing slightly murky.

ABC tied NBC atop the main demo on Monday and finished first in total viewers.

ABC and NBC tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.6 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted demographic. ABC was first in total viewers with an average of 5.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. NBC was second in viewers with 5.2 million.

For ABC, “The Bachelorette” at 8 p.m. earned a 1.9/7 and 6.6 million viewers — both highs on the night. “The Whispers” at 10 received a 1.0/3 and 4 million viewers.

For NBC, “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 had a 1.8/6 and 6.1 million viewers. “The Island” at 10 got a 1.1/4 and 3.6 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 0.9/3 and fourth in viewers with 3.3 million. “SYTYCD” was the only show on the network’s schedule.

CBS and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.8/3. CBS was third in total viewers with 5.2 million, airing entirely reruns; Univision was fifth with 2.2 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 1.4 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.1 million, airing repeats.
