Reese Witherspoon Pilot Ordered by ABC

Kevin Williamson also producing project for broadcast network

Reese Witherspoon and Kevin Williamson are among the producers of four new drama pilots ordered by ABC.

Witherspoon will executive produce an untitled project from writer and executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer about a ruthless Dallas divorce attorney’s life that begins to unravel when her emotionally damaged, love-addicted sister resurfaces exposing a long-hidden family secret. Bruna Papandrea of Witherspoon’s company Pacific Standard will also executive produce.

Williamson will serve as writer and executive producer of “Time After Time.” Adapted from a novel by Karl Alexander, the show chronicles the epic adventures of young H.G. Wells and his time machine.

“The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez” is written and executive produced by Charise Castro Smith and executive produced Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. The show is billed as a MacBeth with a Cuban twist.

“Spark,” a genre soap set in a world where gas and coal fuel the world, is written and executive produced by Michael Cooney and executive produced by Ian Sander and Kim Moses.

“Spark,” the Oppenheimer project and “The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez” are produced by ABC Studios. “Time After Time” is produced b Warner Bros. Television.
