Rapper Rick Ross was arrested on Wednesday on kidnapping and aggravated assault charges in Fayette County, Georgia.

Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal’s service along with his bodyguard, Nadrian James.

According to a press release from the Fayette County Sherrif’s Office, “On June 7, 2015 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation regarding an assault which occurred at a residence on Highway 279 in Fayetteville, Ga. The investigation revealed William Roberts and Nadrian James as suspects responsible for the assault.”

“On June 24, 2015 members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force executed arrest warrants on William Roberts and Nadrian James,” the release continued. “They were arrested in Fayetteville, Georgia without incident as a result of this investigation.”

Ross faces charges on kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. He was arrested two weeks ago in Fayette County for marijuana possession.

According to TMZ, the charges in this case stem from an incident in which a man working at Ross’ home was pistol-whipped and detained against his will.

Ross has been nominated for multiple Grammy awards, most recently in 2014 for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance for his song New Flame featuring Chris Brown and Usher.
