Roger Ailes Asked Donald Trump ‘What the Hell Is Wrong With You’ After Megyn Kelly Tussle

“The United States is at war with every goddamn country in the Middle East and you’re at war with Megyn Kelly,” Fox News Chairman said to GOP frontrunner

Fox News chairman Roger Ailes revealed some of the tough talk he had with Donald Trump after the real estate mogul went to battle with the No. 1 cable news channel last summer following the first GOP debate.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Ailes said he asked Trump. “The United States is at war with every goddamn country in the Middle East and you’re at war with Megyn Kelly and you think that looks good? It doesn’t look good.”

In an interview with Adweek, which named Ailes its “Media Visionary of the Year,” the Fox News chief said he and Trump have had a “friendly relationship” for three decades, but Trump’s public battle with Fox News didn’t look good.

Ailes added that he would never run for office because he couldn’t promise to “behave.” When asked why that same renegade behavior is working for Trump, Ailes said, “Yeah, but he hasn’t physically done it yet.”

Trump, went to rhetorical war with Fox News over the summer and then again in the fall for what the GOP frontrunner deemed unfair coverage of him and his presidential candidacy.

The tensions even included a short-lived Trump boycott of the network that ended after about a week.
