Michelle Rounds, Rosie O’Donnell’s ex-wife, died Monday, Sept. 11, at age 46. TMZ reports that Rounds died by apparent suicide.
“I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife and their child.”
O’Donnell and Rounds married in New York in June 2012, and they announced in January 2013 that they had adopted a baby girl, Dakota.
The couple finalized their divorce in October 2015.
Rounds is survived by wife Krista Monteleone, two daughters and a stepson.
