Ryan Gosling dances divinely in the upcoming “La La Land,” but the actor admitted he doesn’t remember any of his dance moves from the film.
“I forgot everything,” Gosling told Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday night. “As soon as we did it, I emptied out my brain.”
When Gosling told the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host that he remembers the waltzing but definitely not the tap dancing, Kimmel asked him whether waltzing is difficult.
“I think I know where this is going,” Gosling said. “I only know the guy part, so that puts you in an interesting position.”
“I want to say something: If you feel anything, it’s just a cigarette,” Kimmel said when both men got up to dance.
So Gosling taught Kimmel a few steps, but the duo didn’t get very far before Gosling had to stop Kimmel for his wandering eyes.
“I want to feel like I’m the only person in the room,” Gosling told Kimmel. “The world melts away, it’s just you and I.”
And at the end, Kimmel and Gosling pulled off the dance.
“La La Land” also stars Emma Stone and will hit theaters on Friday.
