Fans of ABC Family’s “The Fosters” will finally get to meet Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Jude’s (Hayden Byerly) dad, executive producer Peter Paige announced during Friday’s Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

Although Paige needed the cast’s help to remember his name, it was revealed that Jamie McShane will play the role of Donald Jacob.

“I think it’s very important to understand Callie and Jude. When you meet him, it all comes together,” said Mitchell.

A show representative told TheWrap that there are no further details on the role.

Previously, the show revealed that Donald was sentenced to jail for manslaughter. Intoxicated while driving, he caused an accident that resulted in people being killed, including his kids’ mother. Previously, Callie, while on the run, calls the prison where her father is supposed to be living in during his sentence. She discovers he was released more that a year prior.

McShane played Sergeant Terry Hill on TNT’s “Southland.” He has also appeared on National Geographic Channel’s “Killing Kennedy” and FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.”

Defining Artists Agency and Trademark Talent represent McShane.
