Stephen Colbert Left Speechless by Paris Attacks (Video)

Late-night host ends Friday show “with a heavy heart” in statement added after taping

Stephen Colbert ended “The Late Show” on Friday speechless in response to the terror attacks in Paris that have killed 127 so far.

“We end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show and then we found out about the horrific events in Paris today,” the CBS late-night host said in segment added on after the show’s taping was completed.

He reported statements made my French President François Hollande and President Obama, adding that his thoughts are with all of Paris.

In a decidedly un-Colbert ending, the comedian signed off with a notable pause, appearing to struggle to find the right words to say.

“We’ll see you on Monday,” he concluded before a several second pause and heavy sigh. “Good night.”
