Broken Lizard has already reached its $2 million crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo thanks to a passionate fanbase that could help the budget get even higher than the stoners in the original film.

It took less than 48 hours for Broken Lizard to hit its goal, as 21, 647 backers have donated $2,257,241 as of 7:33 p.m. PDT.

It remains unclear whether Broken Lizard will follow through with its promise to rub the $2 million all over themselves “like Demi Moore in ‘Indecent Proposal,’” but the beloved comedy troupe is expected to deliver a second video soon.

Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske are all reprising their roles as fun-loving Vermont state troopers in the film.

Fox Searchlight has already agreed to distribute the sequel, which will start production this summer.

Warner Bros. made a similar distribution offer in advance of the Kickstarter campaign for “Veronica Mars,” which raised a record $5.7 million from fans.

“Super Troopers” grossed $23 million worldwide and led to Broken Lizard‘s subsequent films “Club Dread” and “Beerfest.”
