‘Supergirl’ Casts DC Comic Book Villain Non

Chris Vance is set to battle Melissa Benoist on CBS superhero drama

“Supergirl” has found her first major nemesis. CBS has cast Chris Vance in the recurring role of Non, the DC comic book villain, TheWrap has learned.

Vance’s version of Non will be a brutal Kryptonian military officer who is sinister and angry, the antithesis of everything Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) stands for. Vance will make his first appearance on Episode 8 of the show’s first season.

The series, from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, will revolve around Kara at age 24, as she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was always meant to be.

On the drama, Chyler Leigh plays Alex Danvers, Kara’s older foster sister and David Harewood stars as Hank Henshaw, a former CIA agent and now the head of Department of Extra-Normal Operations.

Others cast in the series include Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, “Nashville” alum Laura Benanti as Supergirl’s birth mother and former Superman and Supergirl stars Dean Cain and Helen Slater, respectively, in mystery roles.

Vance played the Jason Statham caharacter in 2012’s “Transporter: The Series,” and has also had recurring stints on “Rizzoli and Isles” and “Dexter.”

He is represented by Paradigm and More/Medavoy Management.

“Supergir” premieres Monday, Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
