NBC has renewed “Superstore” for a sixth season.

The sitcom is currently airing Season 5.

“We’re thrilled that ‘Superstore’ continues to speak to many important and topical issues while simultaneously being hilarious,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment.

Justin Spitzer is the creator and also executive produces along with star America Ferrera, director Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad. Gabe Miller and Jonathan Green also serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. It’s produced by Universal Television, Spitzer Holding Company, Miller Green Broadcasting and The District.

The series has been running since 2015, and follows the lives of employees who work in a big box store.

Miller and Green took over as co-showrunners of the workplace in April, while Spitzer shifts his focus to new development for Universal Television. All three have renewed their overall deals with the studio ahead of “Superstore’s” fifth season, which premiered in the fall.

Miller and Green have been writers on “Superstore” since the show’s first season, and their previous credits include “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Office” and “The Mindy Project.”

The series also stars Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Mark McKinney, Nichole Bloom, Danny Gura, Jon Miyahara and Mariana Tosca.
