‘Teen Beach Movie’s’ Mollee Gray to Star in Indie Thriller ‘Deceived’ (Exclusive)

A former finalist on “So You Think You Can Dance,” she’ll play one-third of a deadly love triangle

“Teen Beach Movie” star Mollee Gray has landed the lead in the indie movie “Deceived,” TheWrap has learned.

Lee Friedlander is directing the feature, which Ken Sanders and Robert Ballo are producing under their Shadowland banner.

The story follows high school sweethearts Amanda (Gray) and Connor, who are very much in love. When Amanda learns she’s pregnant with Connor’s child, she’s understandably upset, but her anger turns to heartbreak when she learns that Connor has also impregnated another young girl — the scheming siren Heather.

Devastated by the situation and Heather’s constant bullying, Amanda tries to take the high road and plans to have her infertile older sister adopt her baby. However, Heather just may be a murderous sociopath who’s out to eliminate her romantic rival altogether, even before Amanda’s baby is born.

Best known for playing ‘Giggles’ in the Disney Channel’s “Teen Beach Movie,” Gray will soon be seen in “Teen Beach Movie 2,” which premieres this summer. She previously appeared alongside Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman in Ivan Reitman’s romantic comedy “No Strings Attached.”

Gray also appeared on the sixth season of “So You Think You Can Dance” and became a fan favorite as she finished in the top 8. The 23-year-old actress played a dancer in all three “High School Musical” movies, as well as having roles in “Victorious,” “Suburgatory” and “Drop Dead Diva.”

Gray is represented by Paradigm and Strong Management.
