FX has renewed the Reagan-era spy drama “The Americans” for a fourth season, FX Networks and FX Productions presidents of original programming Nick Grad and Eric Schrier said Tuesday.

The 13-episode fourth season will premiere next year.

“It’s been a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a show like this with the immensely talented and immeasurably supportive team at FX and Fox 21 Television Studios,” executive producers Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields. “We are blessed with an extraordinary cast and crew and grateful that we’ll all be able to continue telling this story that we love so much.”

The current third season of the series, which stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as a pair of Soviet spies operating in 1980s America, airs its finale on April 22.
