‘The Flash’ First Look: Teddy Sears, Grant Gustin Pay Homage to Comic Book Roots (Photo)

TCA 2015: Two actors playing superspeedster character recreate iconic scene from DC comics

There are two Flashes heading to Central City, and the first look at Teddy Sears on “The Flash” sees Jay Garrick and Barry Allen both coming to the rescue.

The stylized photo pays homage to a classic DC comic book panel, featuring a woman in peril yelling for help from The Flash.

Sears’ Jay Garrick, the first man to wear the moniker in the comics, and Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, currently Flash on the show, both come running.

The two Flash characters are not the only superspeedsters in Central City in Season 2, with Tom Cavanagh’s Reverse Flash still around, and “Insurgent” star Keiynan Lonsdale recently joining as Wally West, aka Kid Flash.

“The Flash” returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
