‘The Son’ Sneak Peek: Pierce Brosnan Has a Tense Father-Son Confrontation (Exclusive Video)

AMC’s adaptation of Philipp Meyer novel premieres Saturday

Pierce Brosnan has a tense father-son confrontation in the new AMC drama “The Son.”

In this exclusive clip (above), Brosnan’s Eli McCullough takes actions that are called into question by his son, Pete (Henry Garrett).

The ten-episode, one-hour drama traces the transformation of Eli, the patriarch of the McCullough clan, from good-natured innocent to calculating killer. He loses everything on the wild frontier, setting him on the path to building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth and privilege. The series explores how Eli’s ruthlessness and quest for power triggers consequences that span generations, as the McCulloughs’ rise to become one the most powerful family dynasties in Texas.

The series is based on Philipp Meyer’s bestselling novel of the same name. Cast members also include Jacob Lofland, Paola Nunez, Carlos Bardem, Zahn McClarnon, Jess Weixler, David Wilson Barnes, Sydney Lucas, James Parks and Elizabeth Frances.

The show is executive produced by showrunner Kevin Murph, co-creators Meyer, Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, director Tom Harper and Sonar Entertainment’s Jenna Santoianni and Tom Lesinski.

“The Son” will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 8, on AMC.
