The Weeknd Quits European Leg of Rihanna’s ‘Anti’ Tour

Grammy-winning singer exits upcoming tour stops due to “some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, ” statement says

Grammy-winning singer The Weeknd has ended plans to join Rihanna‘s ‘Anti’ tour, according to reports.

The singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, had plans to join Rihanna for the European leg of her tour, but he may well be bowing out because of his own success.

“Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour,” read a statement from Live Nation and as reported in FADER. The news was also reported on the HotNewHiphop.com web site.

Big Sean will continue to support Rihanna on that leg of the tour, which begins June 17 in Amsterdam. Her current U.S. tour started March 12 and ends on May 18.
