Los Angeles, CA, October 2, 2013 — TheWrap is pleased to announce that it achieved an all-time traffic high in the site’s history for the month of September, in both unique visitors and page views.
The site achieved 150% traffic growth in unique visitors for September year over year, and achieved the same growth in page views for the month on the heels of a new design, relaunched on Sept. 3.
The site has for the past three months reflected significant growth milestones, approaching 3 million unique monthly visitors each month. That does not include TheWrap’s global footprint because of its partnership with Reuters news service, to which it is the exclusive entertainment news partner.
“This growth is the result of the building blocks we put in place to take TheWrap to its next stage as the leading digital news organization covering the business of entertainment,” said site founder and CEO, Sharon Waxman.
She added: “With new editorial leadership, a growing newsroom and a design that is engaging our readers more deeply, we feel this is only the beginning of what will be a continuing growth trajectory for the company.”
TheWrap’s growth focus has included adding significant editorial resources to its cutting edge newsroom and concentrating on original video content with the build-out of a video production studio.
In addition to the site, TheWrap has continued to grow its events, expanding TheGrill conference brand with a bigger September conference featuring Bill Maher, John Skipper and Julie Bowen and convening a production-oriented Grill in June.
