Tiger Woods: Watch Full Dash Cam Footage From His DUI Arrest (Video)

Golfer triple-bogeyed the field sobriety tests

Tiger Woods is one of the greatest athletes in the history of our country, but this week the pro golfer experienced one of the worst moments of his life.

Woods was arrested around 7 a.m. on Monday morning in Jupiter, Fla. after being discovered asleep in his car. He was released a few hours later under his own recognizance.

The police car’s dash cam footage came out on Wednesday; readers can watch that above. In the video, Woods appears incoherent and cannot answer simple questions. He also seems to think he is in California, and fails multiple field sobriety tests. Later, Woods blew a 0.00 on a Breathalyzer test.

Woods released the following statement on Monday night, saying he had a bad reaction to a mix of prescribed medications:

I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.

I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.

I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too.

I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.

I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office for their professionalism.

Woods, 41, last competed on the PGA Tour in February. In April, he announced that he would not compete in the Masters tournament and put his career on hold for surgery to alleviate back pain, his fourth surgery in the past three years.

The arrest is the latest in a series of woes for Woods that date back to Thanksgiving weekend in 2009, when Woods was involved in a car crash just outside of his home just two days after a National Enquirer report published a story about the golfer being in an extramarital affair.

After the crash, several more women claimed to have had affairs with Woods. Woods admitted infidelity and he and his wife, Elin Nordegren, divorced in August 2010.
