Tom Hardy Shuts Down Reporter Asking About His Sexuality: ‘What on Earth Are You on About?’ (Video)

The “Legend” star was turned off by a reporter at the Toronto Film Festival who asked if the actor feels it’s “hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality”

Don’t ask Tom Hardy about his or any other Hollywood star’s sexuality at a press conference.

The actor, who was promoting his latest film “Legend” at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, shut down a reporter from LGBT news outlet Daily Xtra when asked if it’s “hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality.”

“What on earth are you on about?” Hardy responded 28 minutes into the event.

When the reporter clarified he was “referring to an interview given to Attitude magazine a few years ago,” Hardy pushed back again: “But what is your question?”

When Hardy finally gave an answer, it came paired with a question of his own.

“I don’t find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality,” Hardy said. “Are you asking me about my sexuality?”

The awkward exchange came to a head when the reporter answered “sure,” and the actor asked, “Why?”

“Thank you,” Hardy said while cutting off the reporter stammering for a response.
