Actress claims she was seriously injured during April visit to restaurant
Sick burn, Tori Spelling; maybe you’ll get some money out of it.
Actress/authoress/tabloid curiosity Spelling has filed a lawsuit against Japanese restaurant giant Benihana, claiming that she was seriously burned at one of its locations.
In the suit, filed against Benihana Encino Corp. in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, Spelling claims that she was visiting the company’s Encino location in April when she slipped and fell, sustaining “deep second and third degree burn injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery.” 9021-oh, no!
As a result, Spelling says she’s suffered lost wages, hospital and medical expenses, general damage and loss of earning capacity.
Alleging negligence, Spelling is seeking unspecified damages, but court papers obtained by TheWrap indicate that the amount demanded “exceeds $25,000.”
A spokesperson for Benihana has not yet responded to TheWrap‘s request for comment.
