Already the most entertaining politician in North America, Rob Ford is apparently going full-on Hollywood.
The Toronto mayor, who was seen smoking crack in video that emerged last May and has since rampaged his way through city council members and media appearances, told the Toronto Sun that he was flying to Los Angeles to attend the Oscars on Sunday.

“It’s going to be fun,” the soft-spoken mayor, who was stripped of most of his powers by the Toronto city council in November, told the paper.
Ford, a fervent hockey fan who has been a favorite target of late night hosts for the last four months, will definitely be a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday night; the host met Ford at LAX in a publicity stunt on Saturday evening.

Kimmel has had his fair share of fun with the mayor, who he says, when it comes to Canada’s exports to the United States, “Almost makes up for Justin Bieber.”
Ford made his own attempt at hosting a talk show, “Ford Nation” on the Sun News Network, but it was canceled after one episode.
