Spike’s ‘Tut’ Captures 1.7 Million Viewers With Premiere

Three-night event kicks off with cable channel’s largest time slot audience in 7 years

Spike’s “Tut” wrapped up 1.7 million total viewers in its premiere, adding another 900,000 audience members over the course of two encores.

The 9 p.m. premiere scored the highest audience for Spike in the time slot in seven years. There are two more nights of the scripted event series left.

Sunday’s debut telecast was sampled by 5.3 million viewers (with a one minute qualifier), with 7.4 million sampling over the course of the three total airings.

“We are thrilled that ‘Tut’ resonated with viewers and delivered a big audience for Spike’s first scripted event series in almost a decade,” said Sharon Levy, executive vice president, Spike Original Series. “The big numbers are a testament the hard work and creativity of the incredible cast and crew of  ‘Tut.’”

Levy is also an executive producer on the project.

Additionally, “Tut” is produced for Spike by Muse Entertainment with Joel S. Rice and Michael Prupas as executive producers. The project is also executive produced by Greg Gugliotta, Michael Vickerman, Elice Island Entertainment’s Jeremy Elice, Angela Mancuso.

The three-night series is directed and executive produced by David Von Ancken. It’s written by Vickerman, Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg. Producers are Irene Litinsky and Guy Louthan; Vlad Wolynetz is co-executive producer.
