Steven Spielberg-produced alien-invasion drama "Falling Skies" sheds more than a million viewers compared to its series premiere
The sky might not be falling for TNT's "Falling Skies" — but the numbers for its second season premiere aren't anything to cheer about either.
The Steven Spielberg produced series — which set a year-to-date record for cable launches with its June 2011 series premiere — didn't do quite so well with Sunday's season two debut.
TNT's Falling Skies Launches Second Season with 4.5 Million Viewers
Sunday's two-hour season premiere amassed 4.5 million total viewers — which isn't anything to sneeze at, but it's a far cry from the 5.9 million total viewers that the series opener pulled in.
In the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers, "Falling Skies" also fell short of its series premiere, bringing in 1.9 million viewers in the demo, compared to the series premiere's 2.6 million.
The series, which stars "ER" alum Noah Wyle, deals with the aftermath of an alien invasion.
