Lindsay Lohan's ‘Liz & Dick’ Investigated by 2 Labor Organizations

SAG-AFTRA and IATSE are both looking into Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," after multiple reports of exhaustion suffered by Lindsay Lohan and crew members

Lindsay Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick" has come under investigation by the labor organizations International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and SAG-AFTRA, after multiple reports of exhaustion of both cast and crew.

“The IATSE is on top of the situation on the set of Lifetime’s ‘Liz and Dick.’ We have had union representatives on the set since last Friday [June 15] and will continue to monitor the hours and working conditions there," IATSE division director of motion picture and television Mike Miller said on Wednesday. "We take very seriously the safety and wellbeing of our crews, and are dedicated to seeing that they are protected from hazardous working conditions.”

SAG-AFTRA, meanwhile, also noted that they had probed conditions on the "Liz & Dick" set, and that "applicable penalties" will be applied should violations be found.

"We have thoroughly investigated this matter and our business representatives have visited, and will continue to visit, the set of 'Liz & Dick,'" a SAG-AFTRA spokeswoman told TheWrap in a statement. "We have spoken with representatives from the company and they are fully aware of their contractual obligations. We will ensure that all applicable penalties will be paid."

The announcements come after paramedics were called to the hotel room of "Liz & Dick" star Lindsay Lohan on Friday, after she was found unresponsive. Lohan's publicist said that Lohan, 25, had suffered exhaustion and dehydration, citing the "grueling schedule" on the biopic, which will air on Lifetime.

"Lindsay worked a grueling schedule the past few days," the spokesman said in a statement. "She was on set last night at 7 p.m. and worked through the night until 8 a.m. this morning. She took a nap before shooting her final scene … Producers were concerned when she did not come out of her room and called paramedics as a precaution. Lindsay was examined and is fine, but did suffer some exhaustion and dehydration. Lindsay was never taken to a hospital; reports to the contrary are false."

The following day, two crew members also reportedly left the production due to exhaustion.

The film also stars Grant Bowler as Taylor's husband Richard Burton.

Lifetime has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.
