"Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence has landed a comedy pilot with Fox, an individual with knowledge of the deal confirms to The Wrap.

The half-hour, single-camera effort, titled "Like Father," is described as "centering on a father-son relationship, inspired by Lawrence's real-life experience." Lawrence will write, direct and executive-produce. The series comes via production company Doozier -- whose Jeff Ingold will also executive-produce -- in association with Warner Bros. Television.

This isn't the only good news that Lawrence has received lately -- after a prolonged absence, his other creation, "Cougar Town," has been added back to ABC's roster in place of the quickly-canceled "Work It." New episodes will resume Feb. 14.
