Donald Trump loves a good Winona Ryder TV movie.
CBS gave “Undercover Boss” a break Sunday, programming Hallmark movie “When Love Is Not Enough: The Louis Wilson Story,” which delivered 7.2 million viewers and a weak 1.2 rating in the key adults 18-49 demo.
NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” took full advantage of CBS’ abrupt fall into fourth place Sunday evening, scoring its best ratings -- 7.9 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in the adult demo -- since its season premiere more than a month ago.
Beyond decreased competition, “Celebrity Apprentice” was also sparked by interest in contestant Bret Michaels, whose ongoing serious health issues have made headlines of late. The show culminated with a get-well message for the Poison front man, who remains hospitalized in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
Overall, ABC won the night, based on the original-episode performances of “Desperate Housewives” (11.1 million viewers/3.3 in adults 18-49) and “Brothers and Sisters” (8.4 million/2.4).
Fox tied NBC for second with the help of originals of “The Simpsons” ($5.9 million/2.9) and “American Dad” (5.3 million/2.7).
Beyond the struggles of its Ryder TV movie, CBS also didn’t receive much help at 8 o’clock from “The Amazing Race,” which dropped 9 percent week to week to 10.6 million viewers and a 3.1 demo rating.
