Allyn Ferguson, an Emmy-winning composer and conductor, has died. He was 85.
Ferguson died last week at his Westlake, California home, according to the Los Angeles Times. He died of natural causes his daughter, Jill Ferguson, told the paper.
Ferguson and Jack Elliott wrote the theme music for "Charlie's Angels" and "Barney Miller" in the 1970s. The pair also scored episodes for other shows, including "The Rookies" and "Starsky and Hutch."
Ferguson won an Emmy in 1985 for his score of the TV adaptation of “Camille.” He also served as conductor and musical co-director for the Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award telecasts.
Ferguson is survived by Jill, his wife Joline, two sons, a sister and six grandchildren.
