Fox isn't doing anything to downplay speculation that it would be interested in Conan O'Brien. But it's not begging him to jump-- at least not yet.
Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly Monday said he's "still in wow-ee mode right now" about NBC's stunning late-night drama.
"We've talked to his people. We've had some informal conversations...mostly to commiserate," he said. "Until he makes a decision, we can't do anything."
Reilly said he hasn't spoken to O'Brien, but, "I love Conan, professionally and personally."
He added that Fox's "position in latenight has been consistent," namely, the network is open to the notion of a five-night-a-week show, but not rushing into anything.
