Ratings: 'Hell's Kitchen' Season Premiere Cooks Up a Win, 'Bachelorette' Slips

Gordon Ramsay's return for the ninth season of "Hell's Kitchen" scored a ratings victory for Fox on Monday night, while ABC's reality offering "The Bachelorette" slid to a season low, according to preliminary numbers.

The "Hell's Kitchen" season premiere on Fox at 8 p.m. drew a 2.5 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, down 4 percent from last season's September premiere, but still delivering the night's top ratings, and 5.7 million total viewers. Meanwhile, Ramsay's other reality offering, "MasterChef," aired the following hour, performing flat compared to last week's episode but still delivering the second-highest numbers of the night with a 2.3/6 in the demo and 5.5 million total viewers.

ABC had a mixed night, starting with "The Bachelorette" at 8, which was down 15 percent with a 2.2/7 in the demo and 7.7 million total viewers. The evening ended on a better note for the network with "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" at 10, which enjoyed a 5 percent uptick from last week's episode with a 2.0/5 in the demo and 5.8 million total viewers.

NBC's roster consisted of reruns, with the exception of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" at 9, which was flat with last week, taking a 0.8/2 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers.

CBS ran repeats throughout the evening.
