BermanBraun has landed a big pilot order at NBC, with the network greenlighting production on an untitled half-hour starring Adam Carolla and executive produced by Jimmy Kimmel.
The project has Carrolla starring as a contracter trying to rebuild his life after a divorce. It will be a single-camera comedy.
Carolla developed a comedy for CBS last year that didn't go to series.
Universal Media Studios is producing in conjunction with BermanBraun and Kimmel's Jackhole Industries. BermanBraun, producers of "Mercy," just signed a new first-look deal with NBC U.
In addition to Kimmel, Carolla, Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman, executive producers on the pilot will be Daniel Kellison, Kevin Hench, Jon Pollack and James Dixon.
NBC plans to produce a whopping 18 pilots this development season, according to entertainment chief Angela Bromstad.
