‘Tyrant’ Renewed for Season 3 on FX

Howard Gordon drama follows an American family drawn into a power struggle in the Middle East

FX has renewed “Tyrant” for a third season.

Howard Gordon‘s drama follows an unassuming American family drawn into the inner workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation.

“Tyrant’s second season took the show to a new level thanks to the skill and direction of Howard, Chris and Glenn and their creative team, the exceptional cast and a story steeped in family, loyalty and intrigue,” said FX President of Original Programming Eric Schrier in a statement. “We look forward to the next chapter and a sensational third season of Tyrant.”

The show recently concluded its second season, and a 10-episode third season is slated to air in 2016.

Season 2 was executive produced by Gordon, along with Glenn Gordon Caron, Chris Keyser, David Fury, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Hugh Fitzpatrick. Tyrant is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
