‘Vampire Diaries’ Alum Steven R. McQueen Joins NBC’s ‘Chicago Fire’

Former CW actor will play the new candidate in recurring role on hit Dick Wolf drama

Steven R. McQueen is moving from Mystic Falls to Chicago. The former “Vampire Diaries” star has joined the cast of NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” it was announced Tuesday.

McQueen joins the cast in a recurring role as the new candidate, Jimmy Borelli.

Borelli makes a dramatic entrance on his first day of work, and that doesn’t sit well with his boss, Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker).

Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Danielle Gelber, Joe Chappelle, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski are executive producers of “Chicago Fire,” which is entering its fourth season on NBC.

It airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET beginning October 13.

The actor is best known for his role as Jeremy Gilbert on CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.” He was an original cast member when the show launched in 2009, and left the supernatural drama during its sixth season earlier this year.

He is represented by UTA and Risa Shapiro at MGMT Entertainment.
