‘Kong: Skull Island’ Trailer: Watch Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston Get Primitive (Video)

Comic-Con 2016: First look at colossal ape film sees A-listers on the run

A bunch of cocky Westerners take a fleet of helicopters to an ancient island like elitist tourists in designer camouflage. What could possibly go wrong?

That’s what reigning Best Actress Oscar winner Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman are about to find out in Warner Bros.’ first look at “Kong: Skull Island.”

The studio showed the clip on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H, where Larson and Hiddleston were on hand to present.

Larson was mostly mum (we have a feeling she’ll resurface later on Saturday to confirm rumors of her landing the role of Captain Marvel, at that studio’s panel), but Hiddleston was game for fan questions — he confirmed he does not play “Pokemon Go.”

“Skull Island” is a joint project of Warner Bros. and Thomas Tull‘s Legendary Entertainment, recently acquired by China’s Dalian Wanda Group. It’s due in theaters on March 10, 2017.

The movie, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings of Summer”), marks the first post-Oscar project for Larson to hit theaters. The star is also currently filming an adaptation of writer Jeannette Walls’ memoir “The Glass Castle.”

The cast also includes Toby Kebbell, John C. Reilly and Thomas Mann.
