Watch ‘SNL’ Host Emma Stone Give Christmas Candles An Anthem of Their Own (Video)

The ladies of “Saturday Night Live” sang an ode to the Christmas candle that gets re-gifted forever

This week’s “Saturday Night Live” chronicled the journey of a “Christmas candle” that traditionally ends up re-gifted over and over again, until it eventually goes away.

Led by almost all of the show’s female cast, including host Emma Stone, the skit took the form of a ’90s-looking music video. You can check out the full video above.

There’s always one candle that circulates a little too far, and the lyrics highlighted the best moments of its path — as it switched hands between several people who simply forgot that they had it in the first place until they discovered it in their closets when searching for a present for their Secret Santa.

“Thank you candle, the one true candle, the candle we all get then give away,” the chorus sounded, before dipping into a bit of advice for those looking to regift this holiday season. “When you give a candle that is all that she needs, don’t pair it with the lotion or some little cream, a lot of people think two gifts are better than one, but that just makes each seem smaller and dumb.”

After that bit of sound advice, the “SNL” skit spilled into its final lesson: “So just give the candle, don’t overthink the candle, it’s passed to every single woman and most gays…. it’s the gift of having a gift to give away, the gift of having a gift to give away.”

Though Donald Trump watched “SNL” as it aired live this week, we don’t know how he felt about this candle sketch. But we do know that he’s still mad about Alec Baldwin’s impersonation of him.
