Windell Middlebrooks, best known for his role as the delivery man at the center of Miller’s High Life commercials, has died at the age of 36, the actor’s reps told TheWrap.

“The Middlebrooks, with sorrowed hearts, announce the passing of a young, black star,” said the actor’s family in a statement. “Windell took his final bow and with great joy exited stage left in the early morning of March 9th, 2015.”

Middlebrooks, who can currently be seen in Adam Carolla‘s “Road Hard,” did a 46-episode stint on ABC procedural “Body of Proof” and also had recurring roles on shows including “Scrubs” and Disney’s “Suite Life on Deck.”

A cause of death was not immediately made available.

“It was Windell’s biggest wish that his final scene not be lived on social media,” the statement continued. “Further details will be forthcoming once the family members plans have been finalized. At this time we have no further information for the press and ask that space is given to his family and friends in their time of mourning.”
