Danielle Claman Gelber, who launched “Chicago Fire” and worked with Dick Wolf on the “Chicago” franchise, is departing Wolf Entertainment to form her own production company at NBC.

“Danielle was an important member of the team as we developed ‘Chicago Fire,’” said Wolf in a statement. “Lightning struck and we were off to the races with a hugely successful brand. With her passion for quality scripted projects, this is a logical and smart evolution to her successful career.”

Under her new NBC deal, Gelber will be developing scripted series under her eponymous banner, for the network.

Gelber joined Wolf Films in 2011 from Showtime, where she was Senior Vice President Original Series Programming (and is credited with having developed “Weeds,” “The L Word” and “Episodes”). Prior to that she was Senior Vice President Drama Series Programming at Fox where she developed “The X Files,” “Beverly Hills 90210,” “Ally McBeal” (and many other series including Wolf’s “New York Undercover”).

Gelber is repped by Jared Levine at Morris Yorn and Richard Weitz at WME.
