A Baby Story

TLC has gone baby crazy.

The Discovery cable channel livestreamed a second baby birth on its TLCme Facebook page last weekend. All told, nine videos from Angela’s 10-hour labor have garnered 279,969 views, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Add in sharing, comments and likes, the miracle of life touched more than three million users on the popular social media site.

“‘A Baby Story: Live’ is a great extension of TLC’s promise to bring real, raw and emotional content to all of our platforms,” Scott Lewers, SVP of TLC’s Multi-Platform Programming & Digital Media, told TheWrap. “Being on the ground for the event with the team to capture more than eight hours of Facebook Live footage culminating in the miraculous moment of Baby Gabriella’s birth was truly remarkable. It was incredibly heartwarming to see all the encouragement and positive feedback from viewers across North America.”

The livestream kicked off Saturday, July 9 at 10:15 p.m. ET, providing those on the social media platform with unedited, real-time views of the live birth.

TLC will air a linear version of the livestream on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:54 p.m. ET.
